Species wood density data
This datasheet contains estimated mean stem specific density data (SSD) for 114 species sampled throughout New Zealand
- Means and standard errors were taken across existing published values and new individual samples collected by the authors.
- SSD estimates include bark and were sampled from whole stem sections or cores
- SSD is based on the oven-dried mass and green volume of a sample
- N is the number of published values or individual samples used to calculate the mean
- Rank is the ranked stem specific density of each species
