NZ Colony Loss and Survival Survey

The first NZ Colony Loss and Survival (COLOSS) survey of beekeepers was first carried out in spring 2015 by Landcare Research. The survey was funded by MPI and the beekeeping industry to deliver a “baseline” of information about the status of bees and the challenges that beekeepers face. The survey was largely based on international COLOSS surveys, although it was tailored to the realities of beekeeping in New Zealand.

The survey has been conducted in 2015 and 2016 (2017 is in planning). For detailse see: https://www.landcareresearch.co.nz/science/portfolios/enhancing-policy-effectiveness/bee-health for details.
