Government is a signatory to the International Open Data Charter and New
Zealand Data and Information Management principles, which follow from the (NZ)
Declaration on Open and Transparent Government. Additionally, the Transport
Evidence Base Strategy highlights improved access to data – and open data – as
a key priority.
What we did (high-level)
Updated the open data catalogue

Further improvement of open data portal

DataHack v1.0
We began planning for ‘DataHack v1.0’ – a pilot internal day-long collaborative exercise amongst a mixture of internal data, analytics, research and applied design people. Hopefully the first of many, with the scope expanding over time.
First open data webinar
We recorded and released our first video about Waka Kotahi open data. This time, we looked into the effects of covid-19 on transport. Next, we’re looking to publish it externally.
