Antarctica New Zealand is the statutory body responsible for New Zealand's interests in Antarctica and the Southern Ocean. We are responsible for the year-round management of Scott Base, administering New Zealand's science and research activities in the Antarctic and hosting a comprehensiveprogramme of public awareness and education activities. We have a presenceon a number of international forums and specialist networks including the Antarctic Treaty System, the Protocol for Environmental Protection, the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) andthe Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR).
